Soul Mates
We all seek "the one", but how
do we recognise "the one" when we meet them?
Have you ever met a person and felt you
have always known them? My definition of soul mate is
one who we know immediately upon meeting. I'm going
to go all spiritual on you here as I believe in reincarnation.
In my opinion, a soul mate is someone you were close
to in a past life, but that is just my opin ion and
I'll keep my opinions to myself from now on.
So a soul mate is a person we meet and
are attracted to, only it is an attraction like no other.
Soul mates are like two magnets and they are pulled
together by an irresistable force that defies reason.
On the other hand magnets repulse with equal force,
and this is why I am sure I have met my soul mate or
mates, as I have had this experience with more than
one individual.
But it is always an awesome experience,
the attraction and the repulsion. For me, meeting soul
mates are the most powerful and intense experiences,
and, believe me, I have had some intensely emotional
experiences...
When you meet your soul mate you will
know it, but all the published material I have previously
read explains meeting your soul mate as a fusing of
souls for life. I would agree the experience is a fusing
of souls, but I disagree it is for life. One of the
problems I have encountered in meeting a soul mate is
that you are so familiar with each other. So familiar,
in fact, that you will tend to take each other for granted.
And there begins the tragedy... Two souls fused by a
love that has the potential to turn to hate equally
as powerfully and equally as quickly...
But however badly thosae relationships
have ended - in ended, I mean blown apart! - I long
to repeat the experience of metting a soul mate. Do
I love the soul mates I have already met? Of course
I do. They remain the most important people in my life
even if I can never see them again. That is the terrible
tragedy and the awesome beauty... That is the intensity...
